With the development of China's offshore oil, the offshore oil industry has made remarkable achievements, especially the Bohai Sea, the East China Sea, the west of the South China Sea, the East of the South China Sea and other four offshore oil bases, with the development in recent years, the proportion of national oil production is becoming more and more obvious.

Here is a project proposal from Suntor for an offshore oil platform.

Project background requirements: The ratio of the number of moving ships of the on-site offshore working platform is 2:1, the distance between the offshore working platform and the ship is about 6KM, and the height ratio between the drilling platform and the moving ship is about 3:1. As decided by our personnel, we use remote wireless equipment and MESH ad-hoc base station equipment, and use 5.8G industrial base station for trunk fixed link to realize stable transmission between platforms. MESH ad-hoc network equipment is used to realize transmission between platforms and mobile working ships, and wireless signal connection is made between offshore platforms and mobile working ships. Ensure that the ship staff can communicate with the outside world in real time.

The system consists of three parts: the signal transmitter of the offshore platform, the communication link of wireless AD hoc network and the receiving coverage of the mobile working ship. The construction ship is equipped with wireless AD hoc network base station equipment and terminal signal coverage equipment to provide stable real-time communication link and terminal signal coverage for the construction platform. A number of vessels are designed to operate within about 6KM of the offshore platform. The distance between platforms is 10KM. The height of the offshore platform is about 3:1 from the sea level to the installation height of the ship. According to the calculation of the earth bulge height, the erection height between the two points basically reaches the visual condition.
